ACP Group acquires the ISO 22000 food safety management system certification.

ACP has succeeded in acquiring the ISO 22000 certification for all CO₂ production sites, cylinder filling and mini bulk.

After being successfully certified in the past with ISO 9001 and HACCP, ACP has now certified their "Safe for food program" for the production, cylinder filling and distribution of liquid carbon dioxide for use in the food industry, according to the international standard ISO 22000.

Carbon dioxide can be used in the food industry as an additive, ingredient or aid.
The production of gases used in food has to comply with the strict European legislation concerning food safety.
ACP's "Safe For Food program" amply meets up to these legal demands. The goal of this program is to produce and deliver a product of extraordinary quality. The quality of the product is guaranteed during the entire production and distribution process, including the product storage with the customer.

By being certified with ISO 22000 for all production sites, ACP takes the next step to consolidate its position as a specialist in producing and selling CO₂, on the European market

As from January 2010, Carboservice will use ACP's CO₂ for the production of high quality dry ice with the Cold Jet pelletizer. Carboservice also commercializes a range of eutectic gels (cold accumulators). Carboservice's long experience in cooling down and temperature control guarantees professional advice in finding a solution for all your "cold" problems.

Carboservice guarantees weekly deliveries in the Paris' region thanks to its own vehicle fleet, and can also take care of transport by a transport company for longer distances.

Cold Jet Dry Ice Pellet-to-Slice Reformer Extends Market Opportunities for Industrial Gas Companies

New ecological reformer allows gas companies to economize via the production of customizable dry ice slice sizes in order to meet the needs of a variety of industries

CINCINNATI - September XX, 2009 - To further support the growing dry ice needs of industrial gas companies, Cold Jet, LLC today introduced its new fully automated dry ice pellet-to-slice reformer. The R3000 Reformer produces customizable dry ice slice sizes that can be used for a variety of applications, such as airline catering services and distribution of temperature sensitive goods. The first system was recently sold to ACP Belgium NV, a producer of high-quality carbon dioxide (CO₂).

Cold Jet's reformer features a proprietary user-friendly design that allows users to reconfigure the dimensions of the press head assembly in less than 10 minutes. Reforming dry ice pellets into slices reduces dry ice (sublimation and waste) and eliminates the hazards associated with traditional ice block cutting processes. Cold Jet's R3000 is fully automated and can use both dry ice pellets and nuggets. The system can be easily integrated with a Cold Jet P3000 pelletizer to produce and reform high density pellets on demand into 1,000 "airline" slices per hour. Unlike traditional systems, Cold Jet"s reformer helps to control the loss of CO₂ gas by reliquefaction.

Explosion in Tertre

Dear Customer,

You've probably heard that on Friday 26/06/09 the oven of the ammonia production in Tertre was struck by the lightning. During the restart of the oven on Saturday (27/06/09) an explosion occurred. The oven has been seriously damaged and has to be repaired. Probably this will take several months. Consequently, the supply through our CO₂ production unit in Tertre (Carbodour) isn't possible anymore. Nevertheless, ACP guarantees a quick supply through its production unit in Geleen (Carbolim).

Upgraded telemetric system

The ACP Group is implementing GPRS modems on the storage tanks of their customers. From every customer tank the stock is available on the internet, completed with a forecast to deliver product to prevent running out of stock. The automatic warning system provides email or SMS to control stock, pressure and consumption per hour of each customer site.

ACP Polska takes part In the 10+ programme of LOTOS Group.

LOTOS Group runs a strategic investment programme in Gdańsk refinery. The main goal of the 10+ programme is to increase the capacity of the refinery by 75%, from 6,5 MLN tons to 10, 5 MLN tons.

As a part of this project, ACP Technology Center will install a wastewater neutralization system based on CO₂. Our installation will be constructed in the new wastewater treatment plant and should be operational I June 2009.

Carbowil - ACP Polska: the first carbon dioxide production plant working in line with the ISO 22000 food safety management system?

CarboWil - ACP Polska is the production plant of liquid carbon dioxide of the ACP group at Poland. The production plant has a capacity of 15 ton food grade liquid carbon dioxide/ hour.

Recently, CarboWil- ACP Polska has set up a food safety management system according to ISO 22000. This system includes: The production and transport of liquid carbon dioxide, for use in food industry, management of storage tanks at customer's site according to the Safe For Food program.

Safe For Food is ACP's quality management program for the production of liquid carbon dioxide intended for food industry and hotel and catering applications. This program has been developed in order to produce and deliver top quality products. The quality of these products is guaranteed during the entire production and distribution process, even including the storage (recipient) at the client's facility.

With this certification, ACP proves again to be the best in class for the production and distribution of liquid carbon dioxide.

ACP in the spotlight

For a short time now, a wonderful neon sign decorates our office building at 55 Dellestraat in 3550 Heusden-Zolder. Passers-by are now reminded day and night of what ACP stands for: CO₂. After all, that is our core business.

The logo, which dates back to 1897, has remained the same. It still represents a stylized CO₂ molecule.

NEW PLANT GELEEN 3 START UP

The new CO₂ plant Geleen 3, with a production capacity of 16 tons per hour, has been started successfully in week 40 (end of September) of 2008!!

The construction of Geleen 3 being finalized and the plant being ready to be commissioned and tested as from beginning of June 2008 onwards, a major setback at the raw gas supply plant of DSM was got. Due to a damaged turbine in the raw gas supply process, one of both DSM ammonia lines had to be stopped. With the raw gas supply limitation to an even lower capacity than the 2 existing CO₂ lines, the commissioning and tests of the new plant were interrupted until September 8th.

Three weeks later, a first full production run was completed. The quality of the product was in line with food specification and was approved for commercial deliveries on Thursday October 2nd.

The other part of the project consists of a CO₂ railway terminal: a storage tank of 600 tons and 8 loading-unloading docks. The total storage capacity of the Carbolim CO₂ plant has been increased to 4.600 tons. The maximum throughput of the terminal is about 1.000 tons per day. After tests and commissioning in July and August 2008, it is ready for use as from September onwards.
